Through their art, modern dancers challenged conventional roles modern dance choreographers and images of gender, sexuality, race, class, modern dance choreographers and regionalism with a view of American democracy that was confrontational modern dance choreographers and participatory, authorial modern dance choreographers and populist. "Modern Bodies exposes the social dynamics that shaped American modernism modern dance choreographers and moved modern dance to the edges of society, a place both provocative modern dance choreographers and perilous.
