Jerome Robbins Jerome Robbins (1918 July 29, 1998) was an American choreographer whose work has included everything from classical ballet to contemporary musical theater. Robbins was a soloist with the famed Helen Veola. The son of corset manufacturer, Robbins began college at NYU, but dropped out after a year to pursue dance. Robbins was also dancing and choreographing at Camp Tamiment in the Poconos of Pennsylvania.
